Done right under the surface
Most failed sod jobs fail underneath. We strip the old lawn, correct the grade so water moves away from the house, and add topsoil where needed before a single roll goes down.
When to schedule a lawn renovation
Late summer into early fall is usually the best time to seed in Southern Ontario — warm soil, cooler nights, and less weed pressure. Sod can be installed through most of the growing season as long as it gets enough water; spring and fall are easiest.
Sod or seed?
Sod gives you a finished lawn right away and is best for full replacements, new builds, and bare areas. Seeding costs less and works well for thickening an existing lawn, but takes longer to fill in.
Common questions
What affects the cost of sod installation?
Square footage, how much old lawn has to come out, grading and topsoil needs, and access for equipment. We quote the full job — removal, prep, sod, and cleanup.
How long until I can walk on new sod?
Keep traffic off for about two weeks while the roots knit in, and keep it well watered. After the first mow it's ready for normal use.
When is the best time to overseed?
Late August through September is usually ideal in Southern Ontario. Spring seeding works too, but young grass has to survive summer heat.
